The IC2 Pump is capable of draining liquids, Water or Lava, which can be used to fill an empty bucket or an Empty Cell. The pump affects any liquid located directly below itself.
In combination with a Compressor, it will automatically extract the Water with no need to use an Empty Cell. The Compressor will then produce a snow ball out of it. This can be extremely useful to cool down a Nuclear Reactor as snow balls can be compressed again into ice blocks. This will not work with a Singularity Compressor, though.
If placed next to a Miner it will drain the Lava encountered by the Miner as it digs into the ground, making it an efficient way of producing Lava Cells.

Tin is the EMC of iron and it costs 4 tin to make 16 empty cells and 3 iron to make 1 bucket so it's worth it+ EE2 condencers do help with gett...
