Iron Chests is a mod initially created by lishid, then rewritten and currently maintained by cpw. Despite the name, this mod adds a variety of new chests to the game in addition to iron chests, all superior to vanilla chests in that they have more capacity and can be placed next to each other. However, they are single chests only and cannot be combined to create double chests.

NOTE: These chests are not impervious to creeper explosions.

Chest UpgradesEdit

In addition to crafting chests using their respective recipes, chest upgrades can also be made. The advantage to a chest upgrade is that you do not need to break a chest (spewing items everywhere) and then place a new one. To use a chest upgrade, right click the chest while holding the upgrade.

NOTE:Using the handheld upgrade on a double vanilla chest may crash your game.

Iron to Gold UpgradeEdit

The Iron to Gold Chest upgrade changes an Iron Chest to a Gold Chest when you right-click on it with the upgrade. It can be crafted by surrounding an iron ingot with gold ingots in the crafting table.
